Bad Music Videos

Ok now. I LOVE music videos. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Why do I love them so much? Because they are just short films with a one-song soundtrack. I think they're beautiful. I think they test the conventions of the narrative of the short film. I love love love them.

BUT!

I cannot stand really bad music videos. You might be sitting there saying, "Well Harrison, what is an example of a bad music video?" This is one example. In the world of bad videos Florida is the high king. Standing on a revolving platform waving your arms around while random lights flash Paris and London is not a video. It's you being a douchebag showing that you really have no talent but to sing songs about girls going down on you. If I see someone just standing there in a video they better be holding a guitar or something. Oh, and bytheway... the girl in the "Right Round" video is not Ke$ha and it is misleading. I thought Ke$ha was black until her "Tik Tok" video came out.

This might just be my personal taste but hey, this is my blog, so I'll cry if I want to. Another bad example is his video for "Club Can't Handle Me." It isn't bad in how it is edited. I like all the dance scenes... but wait, they're all pulled from Step Up 3D. I HATE when a music video is just clips from a movie that the song was featured in. If I wanted to watch clips from the movie, I'd go see the movie. At least be original like Madonna did with Die Another Day. The song was the title song for the Bond movie Die Another Day but instead of having clips from the film Madonna is a character in a Bond-like setting and fights and shit using props and scenarios from the film. Yeah bitches, damn straight.

Well... that's enough of that for now. My mouth tastes like bread... -_-
