Double Dose: False Illusions of "Catching Them All" and Really Bad Spin-Offs

Ok now. When I was a little 8-year old, Pokemon Blue and Red came out. I bought Blue version before anyone knew what Pokemon was. I played that game like a beast. And then I got Red version because it had different Pokemonz in it. I played that more like a beast and eventually caught all 150! I was stoked. I would watch the show and be like, "Yeah Ash! You suck! You have like six Pokemonz and I have all 150!" Then Ash would cry like a little baby in the show (or get electrocuted to death eight times) and I would have a big boost to my self-esteem.

But wait... two years later Yellow version comes out. You HAVE to get that version so that you can start with Pikachu.... just like in the show! Ohemgee. But then in another year or two comes out Gold and Silver version. 100 more Pokemonz to catch. Dammit. Ok. I play the hell out of Silver and eventually get all 250. But then comes Crystal... those pokemonz MOVE! OH EM GEE! And then comes out Ruby and Sapphire (which in my opinion were the worst Pokemon in the series) so there's another 100... I did not get all of them. And then came Emerald, Diamond and Pearl, and Platinum (not to mention FireRed, LeafGreen, SoulSilver, and HeartGold) and now there are like 450+ Pokemonzzz. Damn... I thought I caught 'em all. But I will never catch 'em all. 

On that note... if Pokemon were real... wouldn't that be AWESOME????

Then there are those times that a show will end and there will be a spin-off of that show that is utterly ridiculous. Like Power Rangers. Let's see, there was Zeo, Turbo, Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, S.P.D., Mystic Force, Operation Overdrive, Jungle Fury, RPM, and the newest one.... Samurai.

Really.... a guinea pig?

Well why the hell don't you just have Power Rangers: Gypsy Thunder Force? Or maybe Power Rangers: Robot Demon Manslaughter Force. Or Ferret Rasslin' Force? I mean it's bound to happen sometime. Maybe the 53rd spin-off? The first few were good because they all revolved around the same central things. Key elements that made each spin-off "season" wonderful. Now there are guinea pig mentors and cheesier actors. Sad day. The sad thing is that bad spin-offs just beg to be watched because they are SO BAD! It's better than cake (but not good cake... more like a cake cooked by your aunt who likes to throw lemon rinds into everything).
