Ok now. So have you ever been at a friend's just shooting the shit (despite how disgusting and dirty that sounds) and they're like, "Oh hey, Hit TV Show is coming on, let's watch it." And I'm like "nah, I don't want to watch that because I've never seen it before, I won't understand it."
And naturally we end up watching it, and if it has even a sliver of substance... I love it. So then I enter into the fifth season of a six-season show and realize I need to catch up. I scramble to get all of the five seasons together and watch them non-stop until the sixth season premieres and then I watch it with everyone else who has been watching since the series premiere.
Then I feel guilty. Because somebody is like, "ugh, I remember when I found out that 'female character who is a slut' found out that she loved 'nerd' and I was so happy. everyone was talking about it for weeks!" And I'm like... "oh yeah, I remember that too...." Even though I had just seen it two days before. I'm a fraud :D
What's worse is when I watch a hit show that has been done for a few years and then realize I love it and watch the entire series in a few weeks and I try to talk about it with everyone like I'm a pro. In high school, I went through a phase where I watched NO tv shows at all. So when I got to college, I realized I had to catch up. I went through a rough phase of watching tv any chance I got. Let's see....
Lost, Ugly Betty, Chuck, Grey's Anatomy, The Office, 30 Rock, Heroes, probably more...
Luckily, I started watching Glee and Modern Family when I did. I am a true fan of those. :D
Much love!
